ex-JKL 7311, exx-TIPP 7311, nee-C&O 7311/1811
Chessie lives! VLIX 7311, which was stored on the Chesapeake & Indiana for several years, moved to Barr Yard in late September. Now it has been transferred to IHB's Blue Island Yard in Riverdale.
Awaiting delivery to its new owner, the VLIX 7311 still remains its sharp, Chessie System paint and lettering. 7311 is said to be one of the last SD18's in existance.
Built in Jan 1963, this Chessie System SD18 has been stuck on the CKIN property for years... It was moved up to Wellsboro 2006 from the Hoosier Valley Railway Museum, but never left the Chesapeake... (more)

Chessie lives in 2009! SD18 7311 sits in the C&I Yard in LaCrosse, IN. It's been here for a while now and unfortunatly doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.
Former C&O unit still displays her Chessie cat logo well.
I believe this unit is owned by vintage locomotives?
